a variety of law firms and corporations in need of qualified paralegals or legal
secretaries. These positions vary in experience from one year to the seasoned
professional in different fields of practice.

A--Our referral service matches applicants for support staff positions with
law firms and corporations in need of personnel.
Q--What support staff positions does Columbus Bar Placement Services,
Inc. fill?
A--Columbus Bar Placement Services, Inc. places legal secretaries, receptionists,
paralegals, word processors and other support staff.
Q--Do you place candidates who have no legal experience as well as
those who do?
A--Yes, if they have a high skill level in spelling, grammar and keyboarding
and/or education in the legal field.
Q--How do I become a Columbus Bar Placement Services, Inc. candidate?

Q--Where do I send my resume?
A--Send it via e-mail to placement@cbalaw.org
or via fax to 614/221.4850 to the attention of the Placement Director.
Q--What should I bring with me to the interview?
A--Bring an extra copy of your resume, references and some letters of recommendation.
Q--How long does the interview take?
A--Allow approximately an hour to an hour and a half for the testing and interviewing
process.
Q--What should I wear?
A--Dress as you would for the job you are seeking - in appropriate business
attire.
Q--Is there a fee for your service?
A--You pay no fee. The law firm or corporation who hires you pays our fee.
Q--Do you place temporary/contract employees?
A--Yes, we also operate a temp/contract referral service, which refers temporary
legal professionals.
Q--How long does it take to be placed?
A--Depending on the mix of candidates and the needs of the firms and corporations,
it could take from one week to several months. We do not guarantee positions
for every candidate, but we work hard to try to place everyone who comes to
interview with us.
Q--If I become a Columbus Bar Placement Services, Inc. candidate, can
I look for a job on my own?
A--Of course, but Columbus Bar Placement Services, Inc. can help you by circulating
your credentials throughout the Columbus community.
Q--What will prevent me from being placed?
A--A resume containing errors or incomplete information; failure to keep an
interview appointment with Columbus Bar Placement Services, Inc. or at a law
firm or corporation; unacceptable behavior or inappropriate attire at an interview,
or in the case of temporary assignments, on the job; and/or inability to communicate
with you - when an opportunity becomes available, it is extremely important
to have the ability to reach you immediately.
Q--How does the matching process work?
A--Law firms and corporations call us for assistance. We fax or email them credentials
of candidates who meet their requirements. We track the interview process and
are notified when a candidate is hired.
